Cracked rearview mirror. What a horrible album to forget for the list.
Chris, heres the deal. I really liked 90's radio, so I am putting together a playlist that I can randomize, so it would be like 90's radio. (without the poop stuff).
A fun trip through memory lane Stanislav. Sorry to critique it, but I might have added Counting Crows to it. But actually you know what? I've only begun listening to them this last year. I resisted Adam W. (what's his name?) for so long because he deeply offended me in high school in "Mr. Jones." For so long I hated that line, "I wanna be Bob Dylan..." That is just plain offensive to me. Every time I heard that stupid song I thought, Nobody can be Bob! But now, I have sure developed an appreciation for artists who sing with all of their emotions, and he is one of them in my book. Have you heard his unplugged version of Round Here?
Rob, I know you have a history of not looking at the post, so I will be gentle. Counting Crows is on the list. Its rests between Rage and STP. You and I have talked about Mr. Jones before. I would think that someone who loves Dylan so much could relate to that line. Have'nt you ever wanted to be Bob Dylan? I know I have. The unplugged "Round Here" is so beautiful. The VH1 Storytellers is also great. I saw them live in Omaha, Nebraska a while back. They played "Round Here," which brought me to tears. It was an amazing show. Live Across the Wire is one of my all time favorite live records.
First off, you told me that, although you did'nt like Nirvana, that you respected them. Weezer??? Come on. you have enough rock sense to see their value! Check out the "Blue" album, all the way to the "Green." They don't have a bad song. They also, in my opinion, are one of the few bands left that actually ROCK. U2? You have to keep in mind that I was'nt in to them in the 90's. I refuse to pretend and be insincere with this list. No Doubt really kicked off Ska for my generation. It was a great shift from grunge because of its "up-beatness." Soundgarden? All I have to say is "Spoonman," "Black Hole Sun," and "Day I Tried to Live." These songs rock. And whats wrong with that? I don't even need to be the apologist on Rage, because I know you "don't get it" (in your own words). Talk to Spoonfreude about the greatness of Zach De La Rocha.
Bush is the only band on the list that I did'nt get into, back in the day. I did like "Glycerine," though.
Here is the deal, and we have talked about this before. Rock is defined by the generation that listens to it. I have no say in what kids like now. You have no say in what I liked in the 90's (respectfully). Thats just the way it is. What is your top 80's groups?
Jason, touche. Thanks for going gentle. Now if I could continue with my critique, what about Weezer's first album? Why didn't you include it? Nirvana's first album definitely had a full list of catchy tracks, but that blue album still is just perfect all the way through. You really left out a great album Jason.

You missed R.E.M. - Automatic For The People, Jewel- Pieces of You and Barenaked Ladies- Rock Spectacle
I have tried to forget about Jewel. R.E.M. is represented, although not a 90's band, and BNL.... you win.
Yes, Jewel had her lesser moments that made us all want to vomit, but now I can get jiggy with her again.
True, you did cover R.E.M., but I was just going on an album by album basis.
I am currently listening to one that should have been on my list as well; Edwin McCain- Honor Among Thieves.
And don't forget Hootie & The Blowfish- Cracked Rearview Mirror
oooh, touche'

Booty and the Hofish need to be on it.
